Are you looking for new opportunities after your summer vacation? Great! We might be the perfect fit for you!
At Codemill, we want to entertain the world by making the production of high-quality content easier. In the past years, we have made great progress at Codemill and we have expanded our knowledge, skills, and number of employees. We recently got introduced to the stock market and we see a continued growth after the summer as well, so this is why we are now looking for a UX Designer to join our great staff!
We are currently building the web-based video platform Accurate Video, which is used within the media and broadcasting business. Our tools help our customers to manage quality control, marketing, editing, automatic adjustments, and AI services.
Working at Codemill means being part of a company that strives towards becoming the best IT workplace in Sweden, if not the world! We always work in teams and value personal development. As a developer at Codemill, you will work either with building and improving our product Accurate Video or work on exciting projects to help our customers succeed in an innovative way.
We value the sense of community and collaboration and we think that it’s very important to make our co-workers feel comfortable at work. To further the great atmosphere and work environment we do a lot of activities together, both during and after working hours. We, of course, also have benefits to promote good health and teamwork.
Working as a UX Designer
At Codemill we work in agile teams with a focus on usability and sustainable, well-coded solutions. Your responsibility as a UX Designer is to ensure that user and customer needs are reflected in the design of our product and various client projects.
As a UX Designer, your goal is to understand the problems and behaviors of our users and create solutions to make their lives a bit easier. The techniques we use to achieve this vary between individuals and projects, but we always do it in the spirit of cooperation and curiosity. Whether you’re faced with difficult decisions while preparing for interviews or designing wireframes, you can always ask a UX colleague for feedback. Or why not discuss it at one of our internal UX forums?
Some of your work tasks may include:
- User research.
- Plan and lead UX workshops.
- User testing and gathering of quantitative UX metrics.
- Documentation and presentation of findings in a suitable way for the client.
- Convert research, design, and testing insights to requirements or user stories.
- Turn problem statements and results from research into concepts and design solutions (Wireframes, lo-fi to hi-fi prototypes, mockups)
You will report to your Team Manager and together you will have regular follow-ups to make sure that you are satisfied with your work situation and have the opportunity to develop your competence. You will have close communication with your teammates and in these pandemic times, we are using digital technologies to maintain our good collaboration.
For this position, we are looking for someone with at least a few years of experience as a UX Designer. We prefer that you have worked close to customers and end-users and that you have used different methods and design tools. If you know the basics within frontend programming, that’s a bonus. One of the most important things is that you find the video and media business interesting and want to build great things together with us.
It’s preferable if you have an academic background within for example Interaction Design, Information Systems, or Behavioral Science. As a person, you should be service-minded and proactive, curious to learn new things, enjoy collaborating with others, and willing to share your knowledge.
As a part of the Codemill staff, you have the opportunity to develop your skills further regardless if you want to have a wide set of skills or if you want to specialize in something specific. We always strive to use modern technologies and innovative solutions and we always have the user and customer in mind. As you begin to settle in your role as a UX Designer, you may have the chance to take on more responsibility.
